April 23, 2010

(PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - April 22, 2010) - Rinnai Corporation, manufacturer of the number one selling brand of tankless gas water heaters in North America, is celebrating Earth Day this week through a variety of corporate endeavors aimed at raising awareness of the environment among employees and consumers. Rinnai’s efforts include the “greening” of the company’s Web site, the launch of an internal Earth Week program and educating the local community about energy efficiency. Each of these elements is part of Get Real Energy Efficient Now (GREEN), which emphasizes Rinnai’s dedication to environmental preservation and energy conservation.

“Rinnai’s production of energy-efficient water heating and home heating products is just one of the ways that our company is going green,” said Ansley Houston, Rinnai’s director of marketing. “We’re proud of the environmental contributions our employees make on a daily basis, and we believe that Earth Day is the perfect time to educate consumers about environmentally responsible practices. If everyone just made one or two eco-minded choices every day, the combined effort would have a significant impact.”

RINNAI’S WEB SITE GOES GREEN

To commemorate Earth Day and Rinnai’s sponsorship of the HGTV Green Home 2010, Rinnai has changed the color of the company’s Web site, www.rinnai.us, from its signature red to an earth-oriented green. The change is designed to draw attention to the environmental benefits of Rinnai’s energy-efficient heating products, and the site includes content on how Rinnai® tankless water heating units help reduce energy use and conserve water while contributing to cleaner air and a healthier home. Visitors to the site may also register to win one of Rinnai’s ultra-efficient condensing tankless water heaters, which operate at up to 95 percent thermal efficiency.

RINNAI EARTH WEEK

In an effort to generate excitement about Earth Day internally at Rinnai, the company has launched its first-ever Earth Week program, which runs from Monday, April 19th through Friday, April 23rd. During the week, Rinnai is emphasizing energy conservation at its corporate office and encouraging employees to bring their lunches to work to minimize air pollution caused by driving to local restaurants. Additional Earth Week program elements include a tree planting ceremony in the courtyard of Rinnai headquarters as well as a company “recycle relay,” which involves employees trading toys, clothes and books in an effort to keep them out of landfills. Throughout the month of April, Rinnai is providing employees with a daily green living tip, each of which offers a simple suggestion for how individuals can help the planet.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION EFFORTS

Rinnai is also reaching out to the local community to educate consumers about the energy efficiency of Rinnai products. As part of this effort, the company participated in the 2010 Fayette County Earth Day Festival, which took place in Tyrone, Ga. on April 17th. During the festival, Rinnai employees hosted an exhibit booth about home energy savings and gave away t-shirts and bags along with Rinnai product information.

On April 26th, a team of representatives from Rinnai’s corporate office will visit McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Ga., where they will present information about tankless technology and energy-efficient water heating to students in the school’s vocational studies class, which just completed its study of home plumbing.
