The Heating Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director and the entire Heating team to establish and grow this segment of the business. This position has the primary responsibility for identifying, analyzing, and selling heating products and systems to contractors, dealers, plumbers, engineers, builders and large national accounts.  Support Sales team to exceed sales growth targets with building confidence and providing application solutions with distributors, contractors and dealers based on industry, system, product and competitive knowledge.

Primary Duties

Role:

The Heating Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director and the entire Heating team to establish and grow this segment of the business. This position has the primary responsibility for identifying, analyzing, and selling heating products and systems to contractors, dealers, plumbers, engineers, builders and large national accounts.  Support Sales team to exceed sales growth targets with building confidence and providing application solutions with distributors, contractors and dealers based on industry, system, product and competitive knowledge.

Requirements:

Business Development

  • Collaborate with Rinnai team members to create the appropriate sales channel infrastructure to achieve Rinnai corporate sales objectives for all heating products.  This will include:
    • Rep evaluation to ensure best fit scenarios
    • Distribution target partners
    • Dealers target partners
  • Assist sales managers, independent rep agencies to develop new business opportunities and programs, while retaining existing customers, by leveraging relationships with existing partners and developing new partners

    to promote Rinnai as their standard products of choice.

  • Strategically aligning distribution, dealers and contractors as well as aiding in pull through sales with rep agencies. 
  • Support regular wholesaler visits, courtesy calls and conduct counter days.  Provide informal training & key selling points to wholesaler counter and inside sales personnel.   
  • Capable to conduct Level 1 ( product overview ), Level 2 ( Installation ) and Level 3 ( Service, Troubleshooting & Repair ) as needed to support the regional needs.
  • Assist in development and recommendations of future features and benefits of all heating products.

Application/Training

  • Ensuring application training and post-sale support are available and accurate for all channel partners
  • Assist in product application solutions for all heating products

Network Development

  • Provide support for various trade shows, dealer/distributor open houses and/or counter days, state shows, and other opportunities as needed
  • Support Rinnai product lines as required to meet corporate objectives

Administration/Other

  • Maintain proper training documentation in the Rinnai LMS system.
  • Maintain expenses within sales area to within sales parameters.
  • Compliance with of Company Policies and Procedures, Ethics, and Values
  • Various projects as requested
Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • 7 - 10 yrs. experience in field sales and training
  • Relevant industry experience required.  Preferences include:
    • Boiler and Hydronics
    • HVAC
    • Contractor sales
  • Proven experience leading and motivating sales channel in a similar environment

  • Analyze data with excel and use PowerPoint to modify sales presentations as needed.

  • PC literacy (Microsoft Office products and CRM)
