Rinnai Launches Control-R WiFi Module For Demand Recirculation and Accompanying Smartphone App
(PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – Feb. 27, 2017) – Rinnai America Corporation, manufacturer of North America’s No. 1 selling tankless water heater brand, announced today that its new Control-R™ Wireless Module for Demand Recirculation and accompanying smartphone app, which the company previewed at the 2017 International Builders’ Show last month, is now available for consumer and dealer use.
“At Rinnai, we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance the lives of our customers by changing the way water is heated,” said Rinnai Vice President of Marketing Mark Buss. “Given the popularity of new smart home technologies in today’s marketplace, we recognize that there is an opportunity for Rinnai to make on-demand water heating even smarter. Our new Control-R Wireless Module allows homeowners to further expand the in-home connectivity of major appliances that shape their daily living habits.”
Rinnai’s new wireless module quickly connects via a two-wire interface and can be purchased with a new Rinnai tankless water heater or installed on existing Rinnai models manufactured since 2006. Once connected, the module pairs with the free Rinnai mobile app using a local Wi-Fi network. Homeowners can enable maintenance alerts and communications with a Rinnai independent dealer easily, right from the app. Additionally, users can control their tankless water heater from a smartphone or tablet to turn the system on and off, change the water temperature, monitor status and, on select models, activate the recirculation system.
Rinnai’s wireless push buttons are also available to interact with the Control-R system. Each push button is wirelessly mounted near the point of use, like a kitchen faucet or bathroom sink, and operates the Rinnai tankless unit’s recirculation system – reducing wait time and wasted water and making it completely Title 24 compliant for California customers.
For dealers, this solution serves as a remote diagnostics tool and saves time. The Control-R module pushes system codes and other service information automatically to dealers, enabling them to proactively contact their customers and arrive at a customer’s location with the right equipment and parts. Dealers are also able to reference diagnostic codes, product information and step-by-step instructions, with links to manuals, training, videos and more.
“At Rinnai, we are committed to industry leadership in tankless water heating, meeting market demand and customer needs. Rinnai’s tankless water heaters have always been ‘smart’ products, but the addition of Wi-Fi has taken their efficiency to the next level,” said Joe Holliday, Senior Director of Business Development at Rinnai America Corporation.
The Rinnai Control-R Wireless Module is available at a suggested retail price of $129. For more information about Rinnai and the company’s product portfolio, visit www.rinnai.us.
