1. Do Rinnai direct vent wall furnaces have a UL rating?
Rinnai direct vent wall furnaces are not UL certified, but are certified by CSA International to ANSI Z21.86 Standard – Vented Gas-Fire Space Heating Appliances. However, the following internal electrical components are UL certified:
1. Transformer (UL QL66-532NA)
2. Limit Switches (E52529)
3. Wire & Conduit (UL 1430)
2. What types of fuel do Rinnai direct vent furnaces use?
Rinnai direct vent furnaces operate using natural gas or propane gas and have an electronic ignition.
3. What color is the Rinnai direct vent furnace?
Rinnai direct vent furnaces are beige. However, model numbers RHFE-1004FA and RHFE-556WTA are also available in white.
4. Can the Rinnai direct vent furnace be used in a mobile home or RV?
Rinnai direct vent furnaces are approved for mobile homes and manufactured homes; however, they are not approved for RVs.
5. Can I install the Rinnai direct vent furnace myself?
Improper installation of gas appliances, including, but not limited to Rinnai products, can be extremely hazardous to you, your family and your property. Accordingly, Rinnai recommends that all of our products be installed by a Rinnai trained and licensed contractor or approved and qualified plumber or contractor according to pertinent federal, state, and/or local regulations. Improper installation of your Rinnai product can affect the warranty provided by Rinnai.
