Title: Marketing Intelligence Manager

Location: Peachtree City, Georgia

ROLE:

Drive business strategies through market intelligence gathering, interpretation, and reporting including market trends and analytics.  This person will provide consulting and interpretation of market and consumer/customer research data to the organization to drive business decisions, product development and marketing strategies throughout the US and Canada.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESEARCH:

  • Responsible for both primary and secondary research. Areas of emphasis include:
    • Market, economic & industry analysis/reporting
    • Competitive analysis and reporting
    • Industry trends analysis and reporting
    • Consumer trends analysis, reporting and recommendations
    • Brand Tracking research
    • Customer satisfaction research (end user and channel)
    • Dealer program results reporting
    • Marketing program analysis (ROI, results, etc.)
    • Product research
    • Consumer & dealer segmentation
    • Advertising/message testing
    • Pricing analysis
  • Implement market or consumer research projects working directly with marketing, product development, and finance team members applying consistent methodologies.
  • Manage and engage best-in-class external research suppliers to ensure superior service, quality and ROI.
  • Provide high-quality support to business teams to execute market research projects contributing to actionable business insights following research.
  • Support, as required, the implementation of specific Channel, Brand and Product funded market research.
  • Liaise with global counterparts to understand broader business issues that impact assigned segments.
  • Assess the likely return on research projects or activities, allocating scarce resources accordingly.
  • Institutionalize business scorecards on performance metrics.
  • Prioritize projects based upon their potential value to the business, redefining or eliminating lower value projects.
  • Develop market insights which focus on business implications ensuring utilization of insights in decision making.
  • Communicate complex data within all levels of the organization.
  • Integrate past learning into current analysis leveraging the market business intelligence repository.
  • Other duties as directed by the VP of Marketing

 

REPORTING:

  • Compiles and delivers business intelligence reports to end users on a regular basis

SUPPORT:

  • Provide high-quality support to business teams to execute market research projects contributing to actionable business insights following research.
  • Provides integrated marketing analytical solutions across customers and channels, contributing to in-market action plans
  • Drive deep consumer/customer understanding and ensure all marketing and product management projects are designed with the consumer at the heart

 

ADMINISTRATION:

  • Annual budget development, financial forecasting, invoicing, expense reconciliation, PO’s
  • Vendor management

 

OTHER:

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required
  • Travel 25%

REQUIREMENTS

  • Wide awareness of new research methodologies and approaches
  • Commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues
  • Understanding of business strategies and tactics and how to implement measurable research plans
  • Experience in a multi-tiered distribution model
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business required, problem solving focus areas such as economics, accounting, finance, quantitative methods, market research, etc. a plus. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of marketing research or related experience covering problem solving activities in diverse industries/product categories.
  • Project management skills/ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Experience in ad hoc, continuous, quantitative and qualitative research and ability to interpret syndicated retail information
  • Strong statistical/quantitative  background, knowledge of statistical packages a plus
  • Familiarity with qualitative research set up/interpretation
  • Ability to synthesize information into insights and implications
  • Understanding of marketing processes and approaches for consumer goods
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral presentation skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office and standard research analytical tools proficiency
  • Results orientated, entrepreneurial, and self-motivating
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with management
