* Note: The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) recently discovered an error in the DOE test procedure that may result in inaccurate annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) test results. This error appears to have an effect on published efficiency ratings. This is an industry wide issue and affects all residential condensing boilers that have modulating or two stage burner input rates. AHRI has brought this issue to the attention of DOE and they are working with the DOE to resolve this issue. RAC has decided to temporarily reduce its AHRI certified AFUE ratings for all Rinnai condensing boilers to 90% until it can be determined if corrections to the test procedure are needed and if so, the boilers are retested. Rinnai condensing boilers are among the most efficient in the industry and we expect our ratings to easily exceed the 90% AFUE once this issue is resolved.
